1. Housing - Homelessness, support with forms, prevention
and support for those leaving care
The aim:
- For Thanet District Council to have early intervention activity
and initiatives to address barriers as identified, e.g. reduce
those living in temporary accommodation
- To improve the availability of suitable move on accommodation
for Young People
- Effectively put into practice the protocol that will streamline
services and improve inter-agency work to meet the needs of
homeless Young People
- To ensure Young People have an accurate understanding of
homelessness issues and provision available
- Carry out mapping exercise of need and use results to determine
appropriate response. Female housing support and children leaving
care
The outcome:
- Projects such as pilot workshops on completing benefit forms
for organisations working with Young People
- ‘Gold Star scheme’ for private landlord sector to improve
governance. Young People housing needs are considered within
development of the programme
- Carry out joint training and awareness raising activity related
to the joint protocol
- Participate in the Kent Housing Education Programme
- To have a comprehensive understanding of levels of need know if
any additional intervention is required by these target groups

2. Not in Employment Education or Training (NEET) - Support,
provision and out of hours
The aim:
- Reduce vulnerability to NEET, help Young People face
the challenges maintaining or accessing employment, training
opportunities
- Greater access to employment and training opportunities to
improve socio-economic outcomes
- Improve Young People access to out of hours support
provision
The outcome:
- To have links with the Prince’s Trust and relevant education
and business partnerships to improve employment and training
opportunities
- Deliver 3 projects annually to support Young People back into

3. Access to Public transport – Barriers
The aim:
Improve access to/ensure providers are aware of the barriers
Young People face accessing public transport facilities
The outcome:
A youth bus route that carries Young People to events taking
