Thanet Coast Project
The Thanet Coast Project team helps to protect, preserve and
enjoy Thanet’s 16 miles of beautiful coastline and their events are
so popular that booking is highly recommended. Events are
free, unless otherwise stated see below
Coastal 'Roc Doc' Walks
Learn the language of the rocks... chalk cliffs, flints &
fossils, on this guided walk with the Rock Doc. All walks start at
11am (1-2hrs; suitable for all ages from 14+):
- Sun 18 July - Rock Doc Walk
at Dumpton Gap, 11am (2hrs). Meet at top of the slope.
Edge of the World Cycle Tour
Gentle cycle along the chalk clifftops around the scenic
Kingsgate & North Foreland coastline to Broadstairs'
Viking Bay and back.
- Mon 26 July, 10 am (4hrs, 8 miles &
return), Meet: Outside Droit House, Margate Harbour.
Surfing Taster Lessons
Learn basic surfing skills with Joss Bay Surf School, or if
conditions do not permit surfing try out your kayaking skills.

Early Risers Seashore Safaris
Explore the rocky shore to find and
identify Thanet’s intriguing sea life (equipment provided). (2hrs,
